A native of North Carolina, Brendan began his rugby career at Appalachian State University and the Charlotte Rugby Club. He completed an undergraduate degree in History and Secondary Education at Appalachian State in 2001. After graduation Brendan played for the Charlotte Rugby Club in DIII, DII, DI and the USA Rugby Super League from 2001-2010.

 

While teaching at Charlotte Catholic High School (CCHS), Brendan began his coaching career, founding the CCHS Rugby Club in 2004, while continuing his own playing career. During this time, he was also involved with the North Carolina Youth Rugby All-Star program under Jonathan Worrall and David Hamilton.  Brendan is also a USA Rugby Coach Educator and has been the head coach for the EIRA u16s(2015) and u17s(2016).  

 

Off the field, Brendan worked as a high school history teacher from 2001-2014.  After completing his Master’s degree at the University of Notre Dame he became a high school Principal from 2014-2016.
