The Eagle Impact Rugby Academy approach to player and coach development is based on the Six Pillars of High Performance model. Each component is critical to developing a professional rugby mindset. This mindset will promote a healthy rugby and life balance while developing life skills that transcend rugby.

EIRA goes

EIRA is thrilled to announce our new Ambassador Tendai “the Beast” Mtawarira.

Tendai - a man of the highest integrity and character – is a perfect fit for EIRA sharing a passion to grow the game in America through mentoring and developing young players. On December 14, Tendai signed with the new MLR franchise Old Glory DC, and is committed to attend EIRA events as his schedule permits. We are already working on the logistics for him to attend the EIRA Mid-Atlantic Player ID Clinic on February 2nd at Mount St Mary’s University.

We would like to thank the owners and management of Old Glory for this opportunity and for their deep commitment to the development of Youth and High School Rugby.

We would also like to thank Precedo Capital for their significant help in making this possible.

And a sincere thank you to the 60+ exceptional volunteer EIRA Rugby Coaches and staff for your passion, commitment, and time - without you we would not have been able to achieve the incredible success that we have, both on and off the field. You really are changing young athletes’ lives.

Please join us in welcoming the BEAST to the EIRA family; we hope that over the next couple of years you will have an opportunity to spend some time with him. Tendai truly is a great man who has managed to remain genuinely humble while achieving significant success.

EIRA’s vision is to close the gap in the global game of rugby. Our mission is to identify and develop the best young players in America. Clinics provide the necessary skill development for players. Continuity with this development is provided through winter camp and summer tours. This summer, 10 EIRA teams ranging from u15 to u19, toured internationally. EIRA believes ongoing skill development combined with international tours not only provides the individual player personal experience of the fast-paced skilled game of tier one nations, but also enhances the development of their home club with this new-found knowledge.

Congratulations to EIRA Coaches Jeff Bonnett (Head Coach), Cam Frater (Forwards), and Andrew Vanos (Backs) for coaching Back Bay Sharks to victory in the Boys National High School Championships

Together We Make A Difference!

EIRA’s purpose is to recognize and develop elite players, not to make a profit. Contributions help minimize player costs and enable us to offer scholarships to players with need.

Nearly 1,300 players from 29 states and DC participated in EIRA events in 2018. Three hundred of these players were given the opportunity to tour the United States, Canada & Ireland playing rugby at an elite level. Challenging players with competition against Tier 1 nations builds character and skill while immersing them in a tour culture that focuses on integrity. 98.9% of EIRA players continue to play after high school with 95% playing in college.
